 Residential centre „Sloboština“ was founded on iniciative of our well known athlete Željko Mavrović and a group of rehabilitated addicts. The centre was established in December 2009. near Eko-farm Mavrović in a little village called Sloboština close to Požega.
The Centre is providing rehabilitation and social reintegration program for people with drug, alcohol and gambling addiction. Program has psycho-social character while religious and spiritual component is optional.
Accommodation capacity is for 10 male persons which gives to the Centre family and not institutional character.
Recovery program in residential centre „Sloboština“ is divided into 4 phases.
- First phase includes preparation, acceptance and adaptation to the program and its' rules.
- Second phase includes observation and establishment of individual theraphy plan followed by modifying users behavior, addictive habits etc.
- Third phase is an upgrade of second phase and during this phase we try to help in resolving family problems and similar issues.
- Fourth phase or partly resocialization phase includes intensive contact with an outside world after isolation by spending weekends outside of the community, going out, etc. We consider this very helpful for the users because it helps them to evaluate their personal achivement and other changes on their pesronal level. At this phase we are organising the procces of discharging of the rehabilitated addict, and we are crating the plan of support in social reintegration.
Duration of this program is individual and it lasts aproximately 12 monts.
As a part of the psycho-social rehabilitation program Centre is providing several services:
- Social and advisory work: preparation, motivation, collecting documents that are neccesary to enter the Community. Connecting and cooperating with several institutions ( hospitals, social centers, unemployment offices, etc.) Working with users family.
- Social and psycho - social help and suport: Social therapy - individual and group analysis, individual plan estabishment. Individual and group therapy – support in resolving problems, critical situations, etc. Experts help in recovery process.
- Working therapy and occupational activities, working habits and responsibility development, obtaining new skills and knowledge, pursuation of self-iniciative at all fields, organised spending of free-time, sports, cultural and entertaiment activities... Prequalification and schooling are part of national program for addicts.
- Taking care of users health by organizing health care services, recidivate prevention education, sexual disease prevention education, etc.
- Individual as well as group work with users family.
Residential centre „Sloboština“ is located in agricultural zone of Požeško-slavonska county and it is also near Eco- farm Mavrović so the working therapy and professional training mainly relies on theoretical and practical knowledge in eco friendly agriculture and enterpreneurship.
Social enterpreneurship
One of the largest problems after the treatmant and recovery is unemployment so the members and beneficiares of the Association PET PLUS founded Social Community Net+ in April 2009. and it's supported by Croatian Ministry of Economy, Labour and Enterpreneurship. The main activity is processing and packaging of eco products, construction services, decorating and maintaining lawns. Social community is founded with an aim of helping our beneficiars and other rehabilitated addicts and to give them a possibility of fulfilling basic egsistential needs.
